Creación del logo / Creation of the logo

Crear el logo fue algo que nos llevó bastante tiempo porque ni siquiera teníamos bien definido el nombre del equipo cuando ya estábamos empezando a dibujar bocetos. Hicimos varias versiones de lo que podia ser el logo pero nada nos convencía.

Un día nos decidimos por un nombre RoboRams, se realizó un logo con base a ese nombre y resultó que ya había un equipo FRC con ese nombre que queríamos para el equipo entonces no sirvió de mucho.

Después elegimos otro nombre y creamos un logo para éste. Entre varios integrantes del equipo hicimos una “lluvia de ideas” y salió el logo definitivo. Nuestro logo es un escudo con cuatro divisiones y otro escudo más pequeño en el centro con una “XR” que son las iniciales de nuestro nombre “XRams”. Tomamos los escudos porque el tema de este año para la competencia era de estilo medieval, las divisiones contienen los cuatro elementos que mejor nos representan: un engrane representando el área de ingeniería dentro de la competencia, el logo del Tecnológico de Monterrey ya que este proyecto está siendo desarrollado desde el ITESM campus Cd. Juárez, un borrego por una parte de nuestro nombre que es “Rams”, borrego en inglés, y un foco representando el área de negocios. En el centro se colocó el símbolo de “XR ”. La primera letra es la imagen de la “X” muy famosa en Cd. Juárez en la Plaza de la Mexicanidad, obra del escultor Chihuahuense Enrique Carbajal Sebastián ya que nos identifica como juarenses y optamos por usarlo. La letra que le sigue es la “R”, inicial de “Rams” porque es la mascota oficial del Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Ésta fue una etapa bastante tediosa, llegar al logo final fue muy tardado porque hubo demasiados cambios y yo era el que tenía el archivo para editar el logo entonces era el único que podía hacer los cambios. Me llegué a desesperar algunas veces porque no terminaba de cambiar algo cuando ya me estaban pidiendo que le modificara otra cosa, después que si el fondo no se veía bien de ese color, luego que si le borrego no estaba bien acomodado, ya al final que ordenara diferente los elementos, en fin muchos detalles pero que terminaron valiendo el esfuerzo y el estrés porque nuestro escudo representa orgullosamente a Ciudad Juárez.

Creating the logo was something that took us a lot of time because when we started drawing sketches for the logo we didn't have a well defined name. We made a lot of versions of what could be the logo but none of them was convincing us.

One day we decided a nema, and i made a logo according to that, and in the end the name that we wanted for our team was already taken, so it was pretty much useless.

Later we chose another name and created a logo for it. Amongst several people we popped ideas and we ended up with a definitive logo. Our logo is a shield with four divisions and a smaller shield in the middle with “XR” written on it, which are the initials of our name “XRams”. We took the shield because the theme for this year's competition is medieval style, the divisions contain the four elements that best represent us: the gear represents the engineering side of the competition, the logo of the Tecnologico de Monterrey since this project is being developed from ITESM campus Cd. Juarez, a bighorn sheep since rams also means sheep, and a light bulb representing the business side. In the center we wanted to add a “Xr” symbol, the first letter is the image of the “X” monument famous in Cd.Juarez located in the mexicanity square, and since it was something that identified us as citizens of Juarez we opted for using it. The following letter is “R” initial of “rams” which we took because it is the official mascot of our school.

This was a really tedious phase, getting to the final logo took a lot of time because there were a lot of changes and i was the one that had the file to edit the logo so i was the only one that could do the necessary changes. I got frustrated sometimes because i hadn't even finished changing something and i was already being asked to modify another thing, then that the background didn't look good in that color, later that the ram wasn't in the correct position , and in the end that i needed to change the order of the elements, anyway there were a lot of details but they ended up being worth the effort and stress because our logo proudly represents Cd Juarez.
