LabView For Robotic Competition (FRC)

El día sábado 6 de febrero 4 miembros del equipo (Víctor, Kenia, Roberto y Alexis Meza) fuimos a UTEP (Universidad donde fue el kick-off el día 09 de enero) a un curso básico de LabView y del “driver station” que usaremos para la competencia FRC Stronghold 2016. El punto de reunión fue en la PrepaTEC campus Ciudad Juárez a las 7:30 am para trasladarnos a El Paso, Texas. Llegamos con mucha emoción a UTEP, pero batallamos un poco para encontrar el salón, afortunadamente llegamos muy temprano para el curso. Es algo que hemos aprendido entre otras cosas, llegar antes de tiempo, por si acaso, porque pueden surgir imprevistos.

Aprendimos toda la información básica que hay sobre todos los componentes de LabView y gracias a la asesoría en línea (SKYPE) que tuvimos el sábado 30 de enero con el Ing. Oscar Fonseca desde la Ciudad de México, la mayoría de las nuevas enseñanzas, ya las teníamos dominadas. Disfrutamos y aprendimos mucho sobre la aplicación del código en el robot. El grupo encargado de la programación nos sentimos más listos que nunca.

Al terminar el curso de programación decidimos ir a comer a “Crave” un restaurante cerca de UTEP, fue muy agradable porque convivimos y platicamos de cosas que no estaban relacionadas al proyecto de robótica, esto nos dio la oportunidad de conocernos más y fortalecernos como equipo. Después de una buena comida, nos fuimos a buscar un sensor que necesitamos para el robot. Nos llevamos una chistosa experiencia cuando el señor que nos atendió se nos quedó viendo sacado de onda porque unos niños le pedimos semejante artículo, lo que nos hizo darnos cuenta de lo que estamos viviendo, estamos en un proyecto tan grande que la gente se sorprende de que unos simples jóvenes estemos haciendo esto. No hay que defraudar a los que confían en nosotros, hay que seguir sorprendiendo.

On the day Saturday February 6th four members of our team((Víctor, Kenia, Roberto and Alexis Meza) went to to UTEP (University where the kickoff took place on the day january 9th) to a basic course about Labview and about the “driver station” that we will use on the FRC Stronghold 2016 competition. the meeting point was on our school PrepaTEC campus Ciudad Juárez at 7:30 am to go to el paso texas. We arrived to UTEP full of excitement, but we struggled a little bit to find the classroom, fortunately we arrived really early for the course. This is something that we have learned among other things, to arrive with time just in case, because unexpected things may happen.

We learned all the basic information that there is about all of the components of Labview and thanks to the online course (SKYPE) that we had on saturday january 30th with the engineer Oscar Fonseca from Mexico city, we had already dominated the majority of the lessons. We had a good time and we learned a lot about the application of code in the robot. As the group in charge of the programming, we feel more ready than ever.

When we finished the programming course we decided to go eat to “Crave” a restaurant that was close to UTEP, it was really nice because we were in each others company and we talked about stuff that was not related to robotics, which gave us the opportunity to get to know each other better and get stronger as a team.

After a good meal, we went looking for a sensor that we needed for the robot. We had a funny experience when the man who helped us was clearly shocked because a bunch of kids were asking for such article, which made us realize what we are living, we are in a project so big that people get surprised that youth is doing this. We must not disappoint the people that believe in us, we must keep surprising them.
